12/17/2023 0 Comments Maxel teaser reels reviewAs you all know, there are very different methods of jigging that have been taking the forefront of innovation in the industry we have so heavily invested in the past few years, (obviously more including west coast iron yo-yo, etc, but for all intensive purposes, I am contrasting our vertical jigging with the slow/high pitch and long fall jigging gear that has been catching our attention and making a lot of greenbacks (money) disappear from our bank accounts) however with that being said, these three somewhat new refined, perhaps re-defined types of jigging here have been beckoning us to change our methods, gear and our vast jig collections, requiring different specialized reels and rods. Though I have heard that the slow pitch jigging method in particular can be just as deadly as our beloved vertical jigging methods we have all come to know, use and love when it comes to Tuna, I (maybe we) have been essentially using a modified slow/high pitch and long fall jigging method for Grouper in the upper GoM for a while now. They are definitely very effective methods for the majority of the type of fishing that I do, which is fishing for Grouper. I have been very intrigued by the idea and have been lured into the fever of slow pitch (also high pitch) and long fall jigging. I am hoping to help narrow the choices and hopefully eliminate some of the costly steps I have had to incur, happily though I might add, and perhaps make the purchasing of gear in the pursuit of the more refined methods I have come to really love, and am continuing to explore every day. These upcoming posts, I am going to try and separate them into 3 posts, one on reels, one on rods, and one on the application of the upcoming methods discussed herein, are just what I have learned and come to love thus far. First, I would like to preface that I am not an expert by any means in what I am about to share, and want to share, with my fellow 360 brothers.
